Here at Halo HQ, we wanted to share some of our top tips with our Angels on how to keep your hair looking Tip-Top all summer!
Just as your body needs water to survive, your hair must replenish its moisture to stay healthy. Conditioner for hair is like water for the body!
When shampooing go gentle, lather removes moisture too,but do not worry as long as you condition after! You will replenish all the lost oils.
Take it easy!
Give your hair a break from heat and embrace your natural side! You can also create loose waves by braiding your hair when it is wet and letting it dry naturally.
Lower the heat!
If you prefer a smoother and sleeker look then you can use heat appliences, but on a low heat! It might take a little longer but your hair will love you for it.
Get better bedhead!
Loosly tie your hair up when going to bed. As most damage occurs here, as leaving it loose can cause knots and tangles when you move around in your sleep.
These are just our top tips for you, to make sure you have healthy, shiny hair this summer!!

We all want our beautiful styles to last days and days, but for most people you can only get two days maximum before having to wash your hair again. But if you are someone who needs a helping hand from dry shampoo to freshen your style, then you are probably using it incorrectly. I know, I can hear you asking how could you possibly be using it wrong? Just spray it onto the roots, well that is one way but not the most effective!
The secret to getting the most out of your dry shampoo is here..
It is all in the preparation, most of us will find our hair feeling worse on the morning so the preparation begins just before you go to sleep! Start by spraying the root area with dry shampoo, this should be done in inch wide sections as you do not want to overload the root area, you don’t want it to look to chalky with product. Once you have sprayed the dry shampoo in the areas you want then leave for two minutes, resist the temptation to brush your hair straight away. This will give it chance to work its magic and absorb the oils. Repeat this in the morning and you will finally see that dry shampoo can be your best friend and your style can last for days!
The concrete jungle might be essential for realising your dreams but increasingly it seems to spell bad news for your hair and hair extensions. We forget that our hair is also effected in the same way our skin is, it can also become dry if we do not give it the TLC it requires!
Moisture is the key! Remember it begins with your shampoo and conditioner, you want to have one that contains moisturising ingredients and remember do not apply your conditioner directly to your roots as this can cause you to have oily roots! We would always recommend a heat protector before you blow dry your hair, heat can be ok for your hair as long as you prep correctly! Also we recommend blow-drying your hair as this closes the hair cuticle and creates a smooth finish, leaving your hair to air dry can create frizziness as your cuticle will be open, this can also lead to more damage when brushing your hair. Once your hair is dry, style as you would normally and finish with a smoothing serum to keep your style from fly aways and to seal the ends of your hair, when applying serum start from the mid-lengths to ends and avoid the root area as this will cause the root to get oily quicker and flatten your style as it will be too heavy.
So remember, protect your hair and you will never have a bad hair day again!
At Halo HQ we wanted to share with you our top tips for caring for you’re Pre-bonded hair extensions.
- Regularly separate the hair strands around the bonds gently with your fingers to help keep your extensions in good condition for as long as possible
When washing your hair
, treat your locks like you would a baby’s. Use gentle formula shampoo and work the shampoo through your hair without excessively rubbing or pulling on your extensions.
Never apply a heated styling tool
like a curling iron
, hair straightener
or curling wand
directly to the bonds of your hair extensions or you’ll risk melting them. Also, for the sake of your extensions and real hair, stick to moderate heat settings and always apply heat protection products before styling.
Don’t forget to visit your hairstylist
every 6 weeks as usual. Hair extensions need TLC too and should be professionally trimmed, washed and styled just like regular hair.
Just like nourished skin, well moisturized hair and extensions will look and feel healthy. Keep your hair in tip-top condition by using a moisturizing conditioner and regular hair treatments
We hope our top tips are helpfull in helping you care for you’re pre-bonded hair extensions!
When it comes to summer and our hair, it isn’t always the best combination! But here at Halo HQ we have the perfect tips to make sure that you and your hair have the perfect relationship!
- When sunbathing, apply a deep conditioning treatment. Use the sun and heat to your advantage, as this will help your conditioning treatment soak all the way into the cuticle
- If you do not want to apply a conditioning treatment all the way through your hair, then you can create your very own sun protection spray! Pour a little suncream into a spray bottle and dilute with water. This will help to protect your hair and scalp without leaving a greasy after effect.
- Once you have been in the sea or pool, rinse your hair! Leaving the chlorine and salt in your hair is never good as it will dry out your hair!
- Give your hair a break from the heat! Embrace the summer braids and ponytails! Play around with accessories and let your natural side out.
- Wear a hat! If you are lucky to suit wearing a hat then this will be the best way to protect your hair! So rock your hat with pride!

We love this hat beacsue it is pink and girly and we think it would also be a very good wind protector, for our styled locks.
This hat looks very elegant but you must remember, no low doorways! otherwise disaster waiting to happen…
We love this simple but very elegant hat, big enough to get noticed. A classic piece that could work for lots of occasions.
What is your favourite hat from ladies day.. simple and elegenat or bold and beautiful?
